Channels on Ventrilo
Creating channels on Ventrilo is very easy. You can put the title of the channel; add a phonetic comment and password-protect it. The channel can be left open to anyone on the server or you can direct it towards specific users. The channel can be used to broadcast anything you want: music, and personal messages (of virtually any nature, since the Net is another word for freedom!). Some people use it to transmit advertising messages as well.
A word of caution with channels, though. To ensure that the channel reaches the right audience, make sure that the appropriate codec is selected. For example, Speex is the only codec that is compatible to both PC and Mac Users. If you have a lot of Mac users as your target, then you have to use the right codecs or your channel would not reach them.
